Currently having to file a lawsuit because the management not letting me out of my lease even though there are unlivable conditions please do yourself a favor stay away from apartment complex the low price isn’t worth the hassle you will be stuck with when you realize the apartments living conditions, I’m pretty sure reviews saying otherwise are fake

We toured the complex in April and saw the model. This seemed like decent furnished housing for students on a budget. There was some construction/maintenance going on at the time we toured but not a big deal. Feedback from people currently living there didn't indicate any problems.
Signed a lease in May to move in in August and filled out a roommate placement request form, got confirmation that we were all set. Two weeks prior to move in, was notified of apartment number. Called Cavalier... to confirm roommates had same apartment number and was informed that there was no roommate request on file. Mind you, if you do not have a requested roommate, they will place you with anyone. After several days of back and forth, it was finally straightened out. On move in day, got checked in and was given key to apartment. There was maintenance equipment laying around, furniture was missing, it was filthy, there were missing cabinet doors and water damage in the cabinet under the sink. The AC unit panel was under repair. The panel was off and wiring was exposed. None of the shower heads had faucets, there was a broken mirror in of the bathrooms and one of the beds was covered in mold. The dryer was missing the handle but was informed by a move-in helper to just "flip the breaker in the box" and that would make the dryer door automatically pop open.
We were not the only ones that encountered this. Many families walked out that day, many from out of state (without furniture), scrambling to find somewhere else affordable to live.
I don't know what happened to this place, many are saying it's because of a change in management to Greystar. If you are going to consider living here, request to see an actual apartment - not the model.

Cavalier Crossing used to be a nice place to live, but since being bought by GreyStar Properties, the place has become a slum with garbage overflowing the dumpsters and blowing across the grass that hasn't been cut in weeks. Maintenance requests now take months according to my roommate, which if true, is a crisis, because we have FOUR in right now for broken things in our apartment. My key randomly stopped working in my door last week, and if I had been even 30 minutes later getting home, the... office would have been closed, and I would have had to sleep outside my apartment until my roommate came home from work because there is no emergency number to call for help. Even if things get better, this has been such a bundle of red flags, that I will not be renewing my lease. The office staff are very nice and say that it's just that the management company won't give them the funding to keep up with everything, but that doesn't change that the standard of living has significantly dropped.
